Family Support Services

Marriage and family therapists treat a wide range of serious clinical problems including: depression, marital problems, anxiety, individual psychological problems, and child-parent problems

Marriage and family therapists regularly practice short-term therapy. About half of the treatment provided by marriage and family therapists is one-on-one with the other half divided between marital/couple and family therapy, or a combination of treatments. Marriage and family therapy's prominence in the mental health field has increased due to its brief, solution-focused treatment, its family-centered approach, and its demonstrated effectiveness.

Marriage and Family Therapists broaden the traditional emphasis on the individual to attend to the nature and role of individuals in primary relationship networks such as marriage and the family. MFTs take a holistic perspective to health care; they are concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families.

    Family counseling helps with:

  • Strengthening the bond between family members envision a better future together.
  • Working through the frequent disputes to find a supportive compromise.
  • An opportunity to repair past ruptures.
  • Addressing personal temperaments and personal growth in a family system.
  • Improving communication skills to feel heard.
  • Resolving your most sensitive conflicts in a more adequate way.
  • Better your coping skills in current and future conflicts.

By adding Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) each member in family is encouraged to express their experiences and emotions in a non-judgmental and secure environment. Through the release of vulnerable feelings of one individual, and having it witnessed by another a person gains insight into their own vulnerable feelings and how their behaviors effect the relationship as a whole.

With an empathetic, supportive and non-judgmental framework, clients are encouraged to voice out their deepest concerns, and develop more productive future behaviors.
